India.Arie’s Voyage Sails with Four Grammy Nominations
India.Arie has been nominated for four Grammy Awards, including;
Best Urban/Alternative Performance (”Little Things”), Best R&B Song (”Good Man”), Best R&B Album, (VOYAGE TO INDIA) and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, India.Arie and Stevie Wonder for (’Christmas Song’).
VOYAGE TO INDIA , released in September 2002, is India.Arie’s second album in less than 18 months, following the award winning and the seven-time Grammy nominated ACOUSTIC SOUL.
VOYAGE TO INDIA, after entering the Billboard R&B Chart at #1 and the Billboard Top Album Chart at #6 has already been certified platinum and continues to grace the Billboard Top 200 Chart . The album demonstrates a maturation process in both song writing and vocal delivery for the 27-year old Atlanta resident/Denver native. She has received critical acclaim from USA Today to VIBE Magazine, Entertainment Weekly to People Magazine. Anthony DeCurtis in the New York Times says “Ms. Arie’s music only further enhanced her reputation as an artist of substance; centering on her acoustic guitar and confident but restrained vocals, it recalls such soul masters as Stevie Wonder and Roberta Flack”, while Robert Hilburn of the Los Angeles Times writes, ‘”A stylish album (Voyage To India) that moves well beyond the promise of Acoustic Soul.”

That award ceremony will take place in March 2003.
India.Arie is currently on tour and will be performing at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on January 17th and will appear on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno January 21st.
