India.Arie’s new song “Little Things” enters Billboard’s Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart at Number Two this week. The song, which features interpolations of Rufus’s 1977 song “Hollywood,” is about being thankful for the “simple things” in life.
In a lyric, Arie sings, “Got everything that I prayed for/Even got a little more/When I asked to learn humility/This is what I was told” The song is the first release from Arie’s sophomore set, Voyage To India, due out on September 24 on Motown Records. Arie does not feel any pressure, however, for Voyage to repeat the successful of her double platinum debut, Acoustic Soul. “The only pressure I feel is time constraints,” Arie said. “Cause I really want to rest, but at the same time I have all these songs coming out, and I want to do that too. That?s the only thing. I like making music. Whoever it’s for, is who it’s for. I don’t really believe in try to compete with yourself. It doesn’t make any sense.”

As India.Arie continues to achieve success with her “Voyage to India”, she will begin touring in November. Joining her Floetry, Slum Village, DJ Rogers Jr. and K-OS.
